WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A LENS HOOD?
The lens hood is a bit of plastic that clasps onto the front of a camera lens and amplifies past it. Lens hoods fill two essential needs: (1) decreasing lens flare, and (2) shielding the lens from harm. The expected motivation behind the lens hood is basically to decrease lens flare, however the insurance it gives to the glass components of the lens is a valuable reaction.
